Otoe-Missouria Housing Department
The Otoe-Missouria Tribe provides housing services through the assistance of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA) from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Otoe-Missouria Housing Authority (OMHA) has been given the responsibility for developing and maintaining housing related activities in compliance with HUD rules and regulations. Applicants for the low rent housing project must meet low-income requirements determined by HUD. Applicants cannot be delinquent on any debt owed to the Otoe-Missouria Tribe or any agencies, programs or departments governed under the Tribe.
Additionally, the Otoe-Missouria Tribe offers a Homebuyer Assistance Program (HBA) and an Option to Purchase Housing Program (OPH).
The HBA program is processed through the Housing Department, however, the application is approved by the Tribal Council by resolution and funded by the Otoe-Missouria Tribe. It is not governed by HUD. Various rules apply to this program, please contact the Housing Office for details.
