The Cherokee Heritage Festival features some traditional foods (such as favorites like frybread) as well as contemporary favorites. All artisans are citizens of one of the three Cherokee Nations.

Join us for the 67th Annual Cherokee National Holiday on August 30 September 1, 2019 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The Cherokee National Holiday is a celebration of Cherokee heritage, cultural awareness and reuniting families. Thousands of Cherokees and visitors from across the US and beyond travel to the historic Cherokee Nation capital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to celebrate the Cherokee spirit. The holiday has been observed annually since 1953, commemorating the signing of the 1839 Cherokee Constitution and the Act of Union reuniting Cherokees both East and West after the Trail of Tears. With an exciting array of entertainment, cultural and athletic events, the Cherokee National Holiday has grown into one of the largest festivals in Oklahoma, attracting more than 100,000 visitors from around the world.

Experience the 30th Annual Running Water Powwow Cherokee Homecoming & Ripe Corn Festival on August 31 – September 1, 2019 at Ridge Ferry Park in Rome, Georgia. Join the hundreds of powwow participants: dancers, storytellers, craftsmen, and vendors who are heading back to to Ridge Ferry Park on Riverside Parkway during the Labor Day weekend to take part in the annual Running Water Powwow. More than 50 arts and crafts vendors will be setting up tents and selling and demonstrating their crafts over the course of the weekend. Craftsmen will be showing how they made weapons the old ways, flute-making, and doing beadwork. Food vendors will also be serving up good eats like Indian fry bread, corn on the cob, buffalo burgers and more.
