2019 Cherokee Nation Tribal Council

Dear Friends & Family,
Although we were not successful in our 2019 bid for the District 14 Tribal Council seat, I will continue to fight for transparency and accountability in our Cherokee Nation government!

To stay informed, please sign-up for regular news and event emails provided by me, Cara Cowan Watts, at CherokeeNationNews&EventsList.  To my knowledge, this is only one of two email lists available.  And, my list is the only ongoing news and events list with regular posts.
To follow the Cherokee Nation and Indian Country news and events via social media, I would suggest my Facebook Business Page at Cara Cowan Watts or Twitter @caracowanwatts.  For more business information and some Cherokee Nation news and events, connect with me on LinkedIn @caracowanwatts.  For some fun and a touch of Cara's life via photos, follow me on Instagram @caracw.

In-person, I will continue to be an active member of the Rogers County Cherokee Association (RCCA), Victory Cherokee Organization (VCO) in Collinsville, and Tulsa Cherokee Community Organization (TCCO).  Each of these organizations meets monthly.  RCCA is of particular importance to me since I founded RCCA with members of our community in 2003 shortly after winning my first election and helped physically build the community building we still maintain today.  To follow any of the three organizations, find their active Facebook pages for meetings, BINGO, cultural events and classes including language classes and more!

Also, I want to hear from you about your experience at the polls.  I am still receiving alarming reports about absentee ballot fraud, voters not being counted at the polls or via absentee ballot, and more.  I need your experience in detail if we are going to push for election law reform.

I am forever thankful for your support at the polls, your hard-earned cash, your time cooking and putting on our community events, and in life as friends and family!

Look for an invite for events such as the expansion of our family business, Tulsa Pier Drilling, soon with a new yard on Highway 20 between Claremore and Pryor, Oklahoma!  Doug and I are creating actual jobs inside the Cherokee Nation when others just talk about doing such things.

Always your servant,

Cara Cowan Watts, PhD
