Do you ever wish you could raise your consciousness and appreciation of other people? Or that your diverse team had a better understanding of one another? Diverse teams are more effective, but there are few tools in our hands to help us really get how to be more inclusive, considerate, and tolerant of each other when inevitable differences arise.

Nonprofit organizations are often formed to solve social disparity gaps in society and to serve segments of the populations that have been repeatedly undervalued. The public expects nonprofit organizations to be champions for compassion, civility, and fairness in their operations and programs. These qualities in action do lead to more diverse and inclusive organizations that are in turn more innovative, more effective, and more financially sound.

And yet few tools are provided to nonprofit leaders to do this in a way that is better than what most adults learn through average social encounters. Compassion, Civility, and Fairness are crucial for a successful leader in the nonprofit sector and they are teachable skills that have direct impact on the strength of an organization’s performance.

Utilizing the ground-breaking research and approach of Dr. Leticia Nieto, and the Civic Virtues from the University of Oklahoma’s Institute for Human Flourishing, this two-day course provides nonprofit professionals with practical tools to advance their capacity to provide better services to their clients and build stronger, more diverse teams of board members, staff, and volunteers that more fully utilizes the experience, wisdom, and cultures represented in their leadership.
