2019 Four Corners Alliance Pre-Admission Workshop

This Pre-Admission Workshop is being held through AAIP's partnership with the Four Corners Alliance (University of Colorado, University of Utah, University of New Mexico, University of Arizona - Tucson and University of Arizon - Phoenix). The PAW is an event held to bring together AAIP member physicians, AI/AN college students, public health professionals, university admissions professionals and other interested individuals with the goal of providing students with the information and skills necessary to succeed in the medical and health-profession school admission process.

Workshop Topics Include:
- Selecting a professional school
- Admissions tests (MCAT)
- Personal statements
- AMCAS application process
- Financial aid and scholarship resources
- Interview process including a mock interview
- Physician & medical student panel presentations

The Pre-Admission Workshop is a 2-day workshop aimed at addressing common challenges encountered by students in the health professional application process. The curriculum focuses on skills necessary for successful application and admittance to health professional school. AAIP awards scholarships to college students to cover the cost of airfare, hotel accommodations, conference registration and materials and most meals.

Scholarships: Scholarships for the 2019 PAW are available and awarded on a one-time basis. These scholarships will cover airfare, lodging and most meals.

Denver March Powwow

Denver March Powwow Date: Friday March 22, 2019 through Sunday March 24, 2019.

Join us for the 45th Denver March Powwow on March 22-24, 2019 at the Denver Coliseum in Denver, Colorado. Be there for the spectacle of over 1,000 Native American dancers, representing 95 tribes from across the US and Canada gather with 35 drum groups to provide the best in singing and dancing. Over 180 vendor booths will fill the Denver Coliseum to the brim with authentic crafts and artwork, amazing native food and a form of native storytelling thats guaranteed to be entertaining.


Denver March Powwow
Each session of the Denver March Powwow begins with the colorful and stirring Grand Entry. It kicks off with the Heart Beat drum group singing the committees song, A Living Hoop. Following them is an eagle staff and American, Indian nation and other flags. Once everyone is in the dance arena and with the spectators still standing, the flags are raised to the accompaniment of a flag song. This is followed by a veterans honoring song the Victory Dance. There are two Grand Entries on Friday and Saturday and one on Sunday.

Besides plenty of intertribal dancing for all participants, the Denver March Powwow features over 30 dance contest categories and over a dozen special contests.

6 and under FREE
General $7 per day; #20 for 3 day pass
60 & over $3 per day; $9 for 3 day pass
Tickets sold at the door (credit cards accepted)
Parking behind Coliseum for $10 with no in/outprivileges.
Limited number of $25 weekend passes available from Committee.

The PAW is an event held to bring together AAIP member physicians, AI/AN college students, public health professionals, university admissions professionals and other interested individuals with the goal of providing students with the information and skills necessary to succeed in the medical and health-profession school admission process.

Workshop Topics Include:
- Selecting a professional school
- Admissions tests (MCAT)
- Personal statements
- AMCAS application process
- Financial aid and scholarship resources
- Interview process including a mock interview
- Physician & medical student panel presentations

The Pre-Admission Workshop is a 2-day workshop aimed at addressing common challenges encountered by students in the health professional application process. The curriculum focuses on skills necessary for successful application and admittance to health professional school. AAIP awards scholarships to college students to cover the cost of airfare, hotel accommodations, conference registration and materials and most meals.

Scholarships: Scholarships for the 2019 PAW are available and awarded on a one-time basis. These scholarships will cover airfare, lodging and most meals.
