With games like the seal hop, four man carry, ear pull, one-foot high kick and seal skinning, the World Eskimo-Indian Olympics (WEIO) are sure to be unlike any other athletic competition you’ve ever seen. All the games in this competition are variations of traditional exercises practiced to hone the physical and mental skills necessary for the traditional livelihoods of Native Alaskan people.

The event also features native dance groups, more than 80 tables of vendors of native arts and exhibits, traditional regalia contests, and the Miss World Eskimo Indian Olympics pageant.

ALL are welcome at the annual Coeur D’alene Julyamsh Pow Wow on July 19-21, 2019 at the Kootenai County Fairground in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the largest outdoor pow wow in the Northwest. Hosted each year by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort, the Coeur D’alene Julyamsh Pow Wow averages about 10,000 people a day who see between 600 and 800 dancers. Julyamsh also plays host to 60 drum groups. Enjoy the spectacle of a horse parade, with horse and rider in full regalia.

ALL are welcome at the annual Coeur D’alene Julyamsh Pow Wow on July 19-21, 2019 at the Kootenai County Fairground in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the largest outdoor pow wow in the Northwest. Hosted each year by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort, the Coeur D’alene Julyamsh Pow Wow averages about 10,000 people a day who see between 600 and 800 dancers. Julyamsh also plays host to 60 drum groups. Enjoy the spectacle of a horse parade, with horse and rider in full regalia.

With games like the seal hop, four man carry, ear pull, one-foot high kick and seal skinning, the World Eskimo-Indian Olympics (WEIO) are sure to be unlike any other athletic competition you’ve ever seen. All the games in this competition are variations of traditional exercises practiced to hone the physical and mental skills necessary for the traditional livelihoods of Native Alaskan people.

The event also features native dance groups, more than 80 tables of vendors of native arts and exhibits, traditional regalia contests, and the Miss World Eskimo Indian Olympics pageant.
