Maintains a cooperative working relationship with clients, client’s families, staff and inter-departmental, intra-departmental personnel. Must be able to plan, implement, and perform duties related to Diabetes education, physical activity (aerobic and strength training), and nutrition. Assist Director in the performance of taking pre and post measurements such as blood pressures, weight, cholesterol, blood sugar, and A1c at health screenings. Perform as exercise group leader for all ages. Able to work independently. Instruct and lead physical activities and chair exercise for the elderly. Maintains timely and appropriate participant care data, progress data and other records. Assists in daily clerical duties and record keeping. Assists in departmental housekeeping and inventory control. Must be able to travel local and long distances and overnight for training, conferences and meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.
Assist in conducting program primarily designed to lead exercise classes in a workout format. Handles registrations, attendance, health screenings, day camps and office related duties.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Diabetes Awareness Program.
No supervision of other employees unless designated by the Director for temporary situations.
